Celebrate Black History & the Civil Rights Movement

Tour important historic sites — including the birthplace of Martin Luther King, Jr. — during Black History Month & gain a deeper understanding of the impact of the civil rights movement from your knowledgeable guide who experienced it first-hand.

About Your Trip

Make it a meaningful Black History Month with this weekend trip in Atlanta, one of the cities at the heart of the civil rights movement that changed America for the better. You’ll go on an inspirational sightseeing bus tour that honors the important work of activists and civil rights leaders, highlighting historic buildings and places central to the movement. Led by the former driver and assistant of Dr. King, this illuminating tour offers a compelling, personalized perspective on the remarkable figures, challenges and accomplishments of the era. During the tour, you’ll see the birthplace — and final resting place — of Dr. King, the church where he co-pastored with his father, Morehouse College where he studied and other top attractions. Along the way, you’ll also have the chance to hear and watch personal accounts of civil rights icons, including John Lewis, Andrew Young and Julian Bond.

What we love:
• Your guide, Tom Houck, has long taken Atlanta visitors to notable places from his own past as a civil rights organizer and demonstrator. In 2015, he made the tour official — it's now considered the ultimate civil rights sightseeing tour in the city.
• Among the many sites visited on the tour, you’ll see the restaurant where efforts were galvanized to help elect Atlanta’s first Black mayor and the cemetery where Black civic leaders like John Wesley Dobbs were laid to rest.
• To maximize your enjoyment, download the DreamTrips™ app to access DreamTrips Local — then earn points on dining, entertainment, spa experiences & more at select spots recommended by DreamTrippers just like you!

This trip will close by January 1.
